Job Overview

The Senior Cybersecurity Incident Responder will play a critical role in our Security Operations Center (SOC), acting as the first line of defense against advanced persistent threats (APTs) and complex malware attacks. This role is designed for a seasoned professional who thrives in high-pressure environments and possesses deep technical expertise in digital forensics and incident handling. You will be responsible for detecting, analyzing, and mitigating security breaches to minimize impact and ensure business continuity for our clients. This is a high-stakes position that requires a proactive mindset and the ability to lead response efforts during critical security events.

This job vacancy in Eritrea is ideal for individuals who possess a deep understanding of network protocols, operating system internals, and adversary tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs). You will work alongside world-class security researchers to refine detection capabilities and strengthen the overall security posture of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the identification, containment, and eradication of sophisticated cyber threats and security breaches.
  • Perform deep-dive digital forensics to determine the root cause and scope of security incidents.
  • Develop and implement containment strategies to prevent the lateral movement of attackers within networks.
  • Collaborate with threat intelligence teams to integrate new indicators of compromise (IOCs) into detection systems.
  • Conduct post-incident reviews to identify gaps in security controls and recommend remediation steps.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior security analysts within the SOC.
  • Document all incident response activities, including timelines, findings, and mitigation actions.

Required Skills

  • Expertise in malware analysis and reverse engineering of malicious software.
  • Advanced proficiency in network traffic analysis and log correlation using SIEM tools.
  • Deep understanding of Windows, Linux, and macOS kernel-level operations.
  • Strong knowledge of the MITRE ATT&CK framework and adversary behavior patterns.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills under extreme time pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills for translating technical findings into actionable business intelligence.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field is mandatory. Advanced certifications such as GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH), GIAC Certified Forensic Analyst (GCFA), or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) are highly preferred.

Experience

A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in a dedicated Security Operations Center (SOC) or incident response role is required. Proven experience in managing large-scale security breaches and conducting forensic investigations is essential for success in this role.

Salary
