Job Overview
The Senior Cybersecurity Forensic Investigator will play a critical role in our elite incident response team. This position is designed for a high-level expert capable of conducting deep-dive digital investigations into complex security breaches. You will be responsible for identifying the root cause of intrusions, reconstructing attacker methodologies, and providing actionable intelligence to mitigate future risks. Key Responsibilities
- Lead complex digital forensic investigations to identify, contain, and remediate advanced persistent threats (APTs).
- Perform deep-dive analysis of volatile memory, disk images, and network traffic to reconstruct adversary movements.
- Develop and implement advanced forensic methodologies to improve detection capabilities.
- Collaborate with the threat intelligence team to map attacker techniques to the MITRE ATT&CK framework.
- Provide expert testimony and detailed technical reports for legal and regulatory compliance purposes.
- Mentor junior forensic analysts and contribute to the internal knowledge base of the global security team.
Required Skills
- Expert-level proficiency in forensic tools such as EnCase, FTK, or Magnet AXIOM.
- Advanced knowledge of operating system internals (Windows, Linux, macOS) and file systems.
- Deep understanding of network protocols and the ability to analyze packet captures (PCAP).
- Strong ability to write scripts (Python, PowerShell, or Bash) for automating forensic tasks.
- Exceptional analytical thinking and the ability to connect disparate data points into a coherent narrative.
Education
A Master’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Digital Forensics, or a closely related field is required. Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree and significant specialized experience may be considered.
Experience
A minimum of 7 years of experience in cybersecurity, with at least 4 years specifically focused on digital forensics and incident response (DFIR). Proven track record of managing large-scale breach investigations is essential. Experience working in a high-pressure SOC or IR environment is highly preferred.
Salary
The competitive salary range for this position is 45,000 to 75,000 SSP, depending on the candidate’s expertise and technical certifications.
