Job Overview
This role focuses on assessing the environmental impact of marine infrastructure projects, including port expansions, offshore wind farms, and coastal tourism developments. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct baseline environmental assessments for marine projects
- Prepare impact assessment reports for regulatory submissions
- Collaborate with local stakeholders on marine conservation initiatives
- Monitor compliance with Eritrean and international environmental laws
- Develop mitigation strategies for coastal ecosystem protection
Required Skills
- Expertise in marine biodiversity assessment
- Proficiency in GIS and remote sensing tools
- Strong data analysis and report writing skills
- Knowledge of Eritrean marine ecosystems
- Bilingual communication (English/Tigrinya preferred)
Education
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Environmental Science, Marine Biology, or related field
- Certification in Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) methodology
Experience
- 3-5 years in marine environmental assessment
- Proven project management experience
- Previous work in East African marine environments
Salary
150,000 – 200,000 SSP/month, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
