Job Overview

This role involves the installation, maintenance, and repair of wind turbines in Barentu’s emerging renewable energy sector. The position requires technical expertise in wind turbine systems, adherence to safety protocols, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure operational efficiency. Candidates will contribute to Eritrea’s transition to sustainable energy while working with cutting-edge technology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on wind turbines and associated electrical systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and control system malfunctions.
  • Conduct safety checks and ensure compliance with industry standards and company protocols.
  • Collect and analyze operational data to optimize turbine performance.
  • Collaborate with engineers and technicians to implement system upgrades and improvements.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in wind turbine maintenance or similar technical roles.
  • Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems in renewable energy infrastructure.
  • Certification in wind turbine safety and OSHA standards.
  • Problem-solving skills for troubleshooting complex equipment.
  • Physical stamina to work in remote locations and at heights.

Education

  • Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Renewable Energy Technology.
  • Relevant technical certifications (e.g., Siemens Gamesa, GE Wind, or Vestas-specific training).

Experience

  • 2-5 years in renewable energy maintenance, preferably in wind turbine operations.
  • Experience with SCADA systems and turbine monitoring software.

Salary

15,000 – 20,000 SSP per month, depending on experience and qualifications.
