Job Overview
The Quality Assurance Manager will lead the QA team in ensuring that all Nestlé products manufactured at the Mendefera facility meet stringent internal standards and comply with national and international food safety regulations. The manager will develop, implement, and continuously improve quality systems, conduct audits, and collaborate closely with production, R&D, and supply chain departments to drive a culture of quality throughout the organization. This position plays a critical role in safeguarding Nestlé’s brand reputation and delivering safe, delicious products to Eritrean consumers.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and update the Quality Management System (QMS) in alignment with ISO 22000, HACCP, and local regulatory requirements.
- Lead internal and external audits, ensuring corrective actions are implemented promptly and effectively.
- Monitor critical control points (CCPs) across production lines and initiate preventive measures to mitigate risks.
- Collaborate with R&D to validate new product formulations and ensure compliance with quality specifications.
- Train and mentor QA staff, fostering a continuous improvement mindset and adherence to best practices.
- Analyze quality data, generate reports, and present findings to senior management to drive strategic decisions.
- Coordinate with suppliers to assess raw material quality and enforce supplier quality agreements.
- Manage non‑conformance investigations, root‑cause analysis, and implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards, HACCP, ISO 22000, and local Eritrean food regulations.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a data‑driven approach.
- Proven leadership and team‑building skills, capable of motivating cross‑functional teams.
- Effective communication skills in English; proficiency in Arabic or Tigrinya is an advantage.
- Advanced proficiency with quality management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight production schedules while maintaining quality standards.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Microbiology, or a related discipline is required. A Master’s degree or professional certifications such as CQE (Certified Quality Engineer) or HACCP Practitioner are highly desirable.
Experience
Minimum of five years of progressive experience in quality assurance within the food and beverage manufacturing sector, with at least two years in a supervisory or managerial role. Experience in multinational environments and familiarity with global quality standards are preferred.
Salary
The competitive salary range for this position is SSP 150,000 to SSP 250,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance‑based bonuses and incentives are also part of the compensation package.
