Job Overview
The Branch Operations Manager will lead the daily operational activities of the Adi Keih branch, ensuring seamless service delivery, regulatory compliance, and optimal customer experience. Reporting directly to the Regional Operations Director, the manager will oversee transaction processing, cash management, staff supervision, and the implementation of operational policies. This role is critical in maintaining the branch’s performance metrics, enhancing efficiency, and supporting the bank’s broader mission of financial stability. Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate all branch operational activities, including cash handling, teller services, and account processing.
- Ensure strict adherence to the Central Bank of Eritrea regulations, internal policies, and anti‑money‑laundering procedures.
- Monitor daily transaction volumes, identify bottlenecks, and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency.
- Lead, mentor, and evaluate a team of 15‑20 operational staff, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous learning.
- Prepare and present operational performance reports to senior management, highlighting key metrics and risk indicators.
- Collaborate with the Sales and Customer Service departments to align operational processes with business development goals.
- Manage branch cash inventory, conduct regular reconciliations, and oversee secure cash transportation.
- Implement and oversee disaster recovery and business continuity plans for the branch.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of banking operations, regulatory frameworks, and risk management.
- Excellent leadership and people‑management abilities.
- Analytical mindset with proficiency in data analysis and performance reporting.
- Effective communication skills in English and Tigrinya.
- Proficiency with core banking systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Problem‑solving orientation and ability to make decisions under pressure.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline is required. Professional certifications such as Certified Banking Operations Professional (CBOP) or equivalent are advantageous.
Experience
Applicants must have at least five years of progressive experience in banking operations, with a minimum of two years in a supervisory or managerial capacity. Experience in a central bank or a large commercial bank is highly preferred.
Salary
The compensation package ranges from SSP 150,000 to SSP 250,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The package includes performance‑based bonuses and statutory benefits.
