Job Overview

The Quality Assurance Manager will lead Nestlé Eritrea’s QA team to ensure that all products comply with international food safety standards, local regulations, and Nestlé’s internal quality policies. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive QA policies, procedures, and SOPs aligned with HACCP, ISO 22000, and Nestlé Global Food Safety standards.
  • Lead internal and external audits, ensuring corrective actions are identified, tracked, and closed effectively.
  • Oversee product testing, microbiological analysis, and sensory evaluation to guarantee compliance with specifications.
  • Collaborate with production managers to resolve quality issues, conduct root‑cause analyses, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage supplier qualification and performance monitoring to ensure raw material quality meets Nestlé standards.
  • Train and mentor QA staff, fostering a culture of accountability, precision, and proactive problem‑solving.
  • Prepare detailed quality reports for senior management and regulatory bodies, highlighting trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure all documentation is accurate, up‑to‑date, and stored in accordance with Nestlé’s electronic quality management system.

Required Skills

  • In‑depth knowledge of food safety regulations (e.g., Codex Alimentarius, Eritrean Ministry of Health guidelines).
  • Proficiency in HACCP, ISO 22000, and GMP principles.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a data‑driven mindset.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross‑functional collaboration.
  • Leadership experience managing QA teams in a manufacturing environment.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Microbiology, or a related discipline is required. A Master’s degree or professional certifications such as Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) or HACCP Practitioner are highly desirable and will be considered an advantage during the selection process.

Experience

Applicants must have a minimum of five years of progressive experience in quality assurance within the food and beverage sector, with at least two years in a supervisory or managerial capacity. Experience in multinational food companies and familiarity with Nestlé’s quality framework will be viewed favorably.
