Job Overview:

ERM is seeking an Environmental Impact Assessment Specialist to join our team in Mendefera, Eritrea. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting environmental impact assessments (EIAs) for various projects, including infrastructure development, mining, and industrial activities.

The EIA Specialist will work closely with our clients to identify and assess potential environmental impacts, develop mitigation measures, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct environmental impact assessments (EIAs) for various projects, including infrastructure development, mining, and industrial activities.
  • Develop and implement mitigation measures to minimize environmental impacts.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards, including Eritrean environmental laws and international best practices.
  • Collaborate with clients to identify and assess potential environmental impacts.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, local communities, and other stakeholders.

Required Skills:

  • Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 8 years of experience in environmental impact assessment, environmental management, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of Eritrean environmental laws and regulations, as well as international best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or related field.

Experience:

8-12 years of experience in environmental impact assessment, environmental management, or a related field.

Salary:

SSP 50,000 – 70,000 per annum.
