Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Senior Water Resource Management Specialist to lead our strategic water conservation and management initiatives in the Gash-Barka region. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of integrated water resource management (IWRM) strategies.
• Conduct comprehensive hydrological modeling and groundwater assessment studies.
• Coordinate with local authorities to ensure compliance with national environmental regulations.
• Manage large-scale field operations involving community-based water infrastructure projects.
• Provide technical oversight for borehole drilling and rainwater harvesting systems.
• Prepare detailed technical reports and feasibility studies for international donors.

Required Skills

• Advanced proficiency in GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and hydrological modeling software.
• Expertise in sustainable groundwater management and watershed protection.

• Fluency in local languages and professional English.

Education

A Master’s degree in Hydrology, Environmental Engineering, Water Resource Management, or a closely related scientific field is mandatory. A PhD in a specialized field will be considered a significant advantage.

Experience

Candidates must possess a minimum of seven years of professional experience in water resource management, preferably within the international development or environmental consultancy sector.
