Job Overview
The Mining Environmental Compliance Officer will ensure that mining operations in Afdera adhere to national and international environmental regulations. This role involves conducting audits, monitoring compliance, and developing strategies to minimize environmental impact while maintaining operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct environmental compliance audits for mining sites
- Prepare and submit regulatory compliance reports to authorities
- Collaborate with mining teams to implement sustainable practices
- Monitor waste management and water usage protocols
- Develop environmental impact mitigation strategies
Required Skills
- Expertise in Eritrean environmental regulations and ISO 14001 standards
- Experience with mining compliance software (e.g., MineSight)
- Strong analytical skills for environmental data interpretation
- Excellent communication for stakeholder engagement
- Problem-solving in complex regulatory environments
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Geology, or related field. Master’s Degree preferred.
Experience
3-5 years in environmental compliance, with at least 1 year in mining operations. Experience in Eritrean mining sector is an advantage.
Salary
150,000 – 200,000 Eritrean Nakfa (SSP) per month, depending on experience.
