Job Overview

This role is critical to maintaining Danone Eritrea’s reputation for excellence. The Food Safety Inspector will oversee compliance with national and international food safety regulations, conduct audits, and ensure all production processes meet quality benchmarks. The position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to implement best practices and mitigate risks in food handling, storage, and distribution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine inspections of production facilities, warehouses, and distribution centers to ensure adherence to food safety protocols.
  • Monitor compliance with HACCP, GMP, and ISO 22000 standards.
  • Investigate and resolve food safety incidents, including contamination or quality deviations.
  • Prepare detailed reports and recommend corrective actions to management.
  • Train staff on food safety procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and external auditors during certification processes.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in food safety inspection or quality assurance roles.
  • Strong knowledge of Eritrean and international food safety regulations.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in using inspection software and documentation tools.

Education

Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Environmental Health, or a related discipline. A Master’s degree is a plus.

Experience

Minimum of 3-5 years in food safety, quality assurance, or regulatory compliance roles, preferably within the food and beverage industry.

Salary

150,000 – 200,000 SSP per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
