We are seeking a Digital Forestry Systems Analyst to join our team in Senafe, Eritrea. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing and interpreting data related to forest ecosystems and developing strategies to promote sustainable forest management.

Job Overview

The Digital Forestry Systems Analyst will work closely with our forestry team to analyze data related to forest health, biodiversity, and ecosystem services. The successful candidate will have a strong background in environmental science, forestry, or a related field and experience working with geospatial data and analysis tools.

The ideal candidate will be able to analyze complex data sets, identify trends and patterns, and develop recommendations for sustainable forest management. They will also be able to communicate effectively with stakeholders, including government officials, local communities, and other conservation organizations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze and interpret data related to forest ecosystems, including forest health, biodiversity, and ecosystem services
  • Develop strategies to promote sustainable forest management, including the use of geospatial data and analysis tools
  • Work closely with our forestry team to identify trends and patterns in forest data and develop recommendations for sustainable forest management
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including government officials, local communities, and other conservation organizations
  • Develop and maintain databases and spreadsheets to track forest data and analysis

    • Required Skills
  • Strong background in environmental science, forestry, or a related field
  • Experience working with geospatial data and analysis tools, including ArcGIS and QGIS
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data sets and identify trends and patterns
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to our mission and values
