Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Hydrology Modeler to join our specialized research team in Badi. This role is pivotal in developing complex mathematical models to predict groundwater movement, surface water runoff, and aquifer recharge rates. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and calibrate complex 3D groundwater flow models using industry-standard software.
- Analyze historical rainfall and groundwater level data to predict future water availability.
- Collaborate with civil engineers to design sustainable irrigation and water distribution systems.
- Conduct field assessments to validate model accuracy against real-world hydrological observations.
- Prepare technical reports for government stakeholders and international development agencies.
- Optimize pump system efficiency through predictive hydrological simulations.
Required Skills
- Advanced proficiency in MODFLOW, FEFLOW, or similar hydrological modeling software.
- Strong mathematical foundation in fluid dynamics and stochastic modeling.
- Expertise in GIS (Geographic Information Systems) for spatial data analysis.
- Excellent technical writing skills for communicating complex scientific findings.
- Ability to manage large datasets using Python or R programming languages.
Education
A minimum of a Master’s Degree in Hydrology, Water Resources Engineering, or a closely related Earth Science discipline is required. A PhD is highly preferred for this senior-level position.
Experience
Candidates must possess at least 5 years of professional experience in hydrological modeling, preferably within the water utility or environmental consultancy sectors. Proven experience in managing large-scale water resource projects is essential.
Salary
The monthly salary for this position ranges from 45,000 SSP to 65,000 SSP, depending on the candidate’s expertise and technical proficiency.
