Job Overview
This role is part of Corteva’s initiative to integrate advanced data analytics into Eritrean agriculture. The Agri-Tech Data Analyst will leverage geospatial and agronomic data to optimize crop yields, monitor soil health, and support decision-making for smallholder farmers. The position is based in Mendefera, a hub for agricultural research and innovation in Eritrea.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze agricultural data sets to identify trends in crop performance and environmental conditions
- Develop predictive models for pest management, irrigation efficiency, and harvest forecasting
- Collaborate with agronomists to translate data insights into actionable farm-level recommendations
- Integrate satellite imagery and IoT sensor data into farm management systems
- Prepare reports and visualizations for stakeholders including farmers, NGOs, and government agencies
Required Skills
- Proficiency in Python, R, or SQL for data analysis
- Experience with GIS software (QGIS, ArcGIS) and remote sensing tools
- Strong understanding of Eritrean agricultural practices and climate patterns
- Excellent communication skills for cross-disciplinary collaboration
- Ability to work in both office and field environments
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Engineering, Data Science, Environmental Science, or related field
- Master’s Degree preferred but not required
Experience
- 3-5 years of experience in agricultural data analysis or agri-tech solutions
- Proven track record in implementing data-driven farming projects
Salary
15,000 – 25,000 Eritrean Nakfa (SSP) per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
