Key Job Responsibilities
Mining Operations Management
The Senior Mining Load & Haul Operations Manager will:
- Lead and supervise all load and haul mining operations
- Manage mining production activities in line with operational KPIs
- Mentor and coach mining engineers, supervisors, crew leaders, graduate engineers (GETs), and operators
- Ensure compliance with mining operational procedures and company standards
- Act in the role of Mining Superintendent when required
- Coordinate pit development, haul road construction, dump management, and ore delivery
- Monitor fleet performance and heavy equipment utilization
- Drive productivity improvement and cost optimization initiatives
- Ensure accurate execution of weekly and monthly mine plans
- Conduct operational inspections to maintain mining quality standards
- Support continuous improvement and mining efficiency projects
Safety, Health & Environmental Compliance
The role demands strong commitment to mine safety, occupational health, environmental compliance, hazard identification, and incident prevention.
Responsibilities include:
- Demonstrating visible leadership in workplace safety
- Maintaining excellent housekeeping standards
- Conducting hazard and risk inspections
- Reporting and investigating workplace incidents
- Enforcing PPE compliance and mine safety regulations
- Supporting environmental management procedures
- Managing geotechnical risk reporting and pit wall stability concerns

- Supporting mine planning, machine utilization forecasting, and budget management

Education & Qualification Requirements
Applicants must possess:
- Extensive mining operations experience (minimum 15 years)

- Certificate IV Trainer & Assessor qualification
- Frontline Management certification
- Supervisors Development Program training
- Strong knowledge of mine production and heavy equipment utilization
