Job Overview
The Risk Management Analyst will support the Risk Management Department by identifying, assessing, and monitoring financial and operational risks across the bank’s portfolio. Working closely with senior risk officers, you will develop risk models, conduct stress testing, and prepare comprehensive reports for senior management and regulatory bodies. Key Responsibilities
- Analyze credit, market, and operational risk data to produce actionable insights.
- Develop and maintain quantitative risk models, including Value at Risk (VaR) and stress‑testing frameworks.
- Prepare detailed risk assessment reports for senior management and regulatory submissions.
- Monitor risk indicators and recommend mitigation strategies to the Risk Management Committee.
- Collaborate with the Treasury, Credit, and Compliance departments to ensure cohesive risk policies.
- Stay updated on local and international regulatory changes affecting banking risk standards.
- Assist in the development of the bank’s enterprise risk management (ERM) framework.
Required Skills
- Strong analytical and quantitative abilities with proficiency in statistical software (e.g., SAS, R, Python).
- Excellent understanding of banking risk concepts, including credit risk, market risk, and operational risk.
- Ability to interpret complex regulatory guidelines and translate them into practical risk controls.
- Effective communication skills for presenting findings to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem‑solving.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data visualization tools.
Education
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline is required. Candidates holding a Master’s degree or professional certifications such as FRM (Financial Risk Manager) or CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) will be given preference.
Experience
Applicants should have 2‑4 years of relevant experience in risk analysis, financial modeling, or a similar role within a banking or financial services environment. Experience with regulatory reporting and familiarity with Eritrean banking regulations are advantageous.
Salary
The position offers a competitive salary range of 150,000 to 250,000 SSP per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance‑based bonuses and annual salary reviews are part of the compensation package.
