Job Overview
The Renewable Energy Project Finance Analyst will play a pivotal role in structuring, evaluating, and managing financing solutions for renewable energy initiatives across Eritrea. Reporting to the Senior Investment Officer, the analyst will conduct financial modeling, risk assessment, and due‑diligence for solar, wind, and hybrid projects, ensuring alignment with both World Bank standards and local regulatory frameworks. Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed financial models for renewable energy projects, incorporating capital costs, operating expenses, revenue streams, and financing structures.
- Perform comprehensive risk analyses, including market, credit, operational, and environmental risks, and propose mitigation strategies.
- Prepare investment memoranda, term sheets, and loan documentation in compliance with World Bank policies and Eritrean regulations.
- Collaborate with project developers, government officials, and private investors to negotiate financing terms and secure funding commitments.
- Monitor project performance post‑disbursement, tracking financial covenants, cash flows, and key performance indicators.
- Support the preparation of periodic reports for senior management, donors, and stakeholders, highlighting financial health and impact metrics.
- Stay abreast of global renewable energy financing trends, policy changes, and emerging financial instruments such as green bonds and blended finance.
Required Skills
- Advanced proficiency in financial modeling software (Excel, VBA, or specialized tools).
- Strong analytical abilities with a focus on risk assessment and mitigation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for preparing reports and presenting to diverse audiences.
- Knowledge of renewable energy technologies and market dynamics in East Africa.
- Familiarity with World Bank procurement and financing guidelines.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cross‑functional team in a multicultural environment.
Education
A Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline is required. Professional certifications such as CFA, FRM, or PMP are considered an advantage.
Experience
Minimum of five years of experience in project finance, investment analysis, or structured finance, preferably within the renewable energy sector. Prior experience working with multilateral development banks or international donors is highly desirable.
Salary
The position offers a competitive salary ranging from 150,000 SSP to 250,000 SSP per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Additional performance‑based incentives may be provided.
