Job Overview

The Network Security Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing security solutions that protect Huawei’s telecom networks and customer data in Eritrea. Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement network security architectures, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and VPN solutions.
• Conduct comprehensive vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on telecom infrastructure.
• Develop and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures in line with industry best practices.
• Monitor security events, analyze logs, and respond to incidents with timely mitigation actions.
• Collaborate with network engineers to integrate security controls into new deployments and upgrades.
• Perform regular security audits and compliance checks to meet local regulations and international standards such as ISO 27001.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior security staff and cross‑functional teams.
• Prepare detailed security reports, risk assessments, and recommendations for senior management.
• Stay updated on emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and security technologies relevant to telecommunications.
• Participate in disaster recovery planning and business continuity exercises.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of network security protocols, encryption, and authentication mechanisms.
• Hands‑on experience with firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto, Fortinet), IDS/IPS, SIEM platforms, and VPN technologies.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or Bash for automation of security tasks.
