Job Overview

The Industrial Automation Engineer will play a pivotal role in designing, programming, and commissioning automation systems for Siemens’ manufacturing projects in Eritrea. Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems for manufacturing lines.
• Program and configure automation hardware from Siemens’ product portfolio, including SIMATIC S7, WinCC, and TIA Portal.
• Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and cost‑benefit analyses for automation projects.
• Collaborate with mechanical and process engineers to ensure optimal integration of automation solutions.
• Perform on‑site installation, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of automation equipment.
• Develop detailed documentation, including functional specifications, wiring diagrams, and user manuals.
• Provide technical training and support to client personnel and internal teams.
• Ensure compliance with international standards such as IEC 61131, ISO 9001, and local safety regulations.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system performance and reliability.
• Support after‑sales service, maintenance planning, and remote diagnostics.

Required Skills

• Proficiency in PLC programming (Siemens S7, TIA Portal) and HMI development.
• Strong knowledge of SCADA systems, industrial networking, and communication protocols (PROFINET, Modbus, OPC UA).
• Experience with electrical schematics, control panel design, and instrumentation.
• Excellent problem‑solving abilities and analytical thinking.
• Effective communication skills in English; Arabic or local languages are a plus.
• Ability to work independently and as part of multidisciplinary teams.
• Project management fundamentals and familiarity with Agile or Waterfall methodologies.

Education
