Job Overview
The Corporate Attorney will provide expert legal advice to Deloitte’s corporate clients, ensuring compliance with Eritrean commercial law, international regulations, and industry standards. Responsibilities include drafting and reviewing contracts, advising on mergers and acquisitions, managing corporate governance matters, and supporting dispute resolution initiatives. Key Responsibilities
- Draft, negotiate, and review commercial agreements, joint venture contracts, and licensing arrangements.
- Provide legal counsel on corporate restructuring, mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures.
- Ensure client compliance with Eritrean corporate law, anti‑corruption statutes, and international trade regulations.
- Advise senior management on corporate governance, board responsibilities, and shareholder rights.
- Conduct legal due diligence for investment projects and cross‑border transactions.
- Support dispute resolution, arbitration, and litigation strategy in collaboration with external counsel.
- Develop and deliver legal risk assessments and mitigation plans for client portfolios.
- Stay updated on legislative changes and emerging legal trends affecting the business landscape in Eritrea.
Required Skills
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Arabic.
- Proficiency in contract drafting and negotiation.
- Deep understanding of Eritrean commercial law and regional regulatory frameworks.
- Ability to work independently and as part of multidisciplinary teams.

Education
A qualified law degree (LL.B.) from an accredited university is required, along with admission to the Eritrean Bar Association. Additional certifications in corporate law, international trade, or compliance are advantageous.
Experience
Applicants must have a minimum of five years of hands‑on experience advising corporate clients on commercial transactions, M&A, and regulatory compliance. Experience within East African markets or with multinational corporations is highly preferred.
Salary
The position offers a competitive salary range of SSP 1,500,000 to SSP 2,500,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance‑based bonuses and benefits are part of the total compensation package.
