Job Overview
The Humanitarian Logistics Coordinator will be based in Teseney, a strategic hub in the Gash‑Barka region, and will oversee the end‑to‑end logistics operations for food assistance programs. This includes planning, procurement, transportation, warehousing, and distribution of food commodities to remote and vulnerable communities. The coordinator will work closely with field staff, government officials, and partner NGOs to ensure that all logistics activities comply with WFP standards and local regulations. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement logistics plans for the procurement, storage, and distribution of food commodities.
- Coordinate transportation routes, manage fleet operations, and ensure timely delivery to field sites.
- Maintain accurate inventory records, conduct regular stock reconciliations, and oversee warehouse management.
- Collaborate with government agencies, NGOs, and local partners to secure customs clearance and compliance with import regulations.
- Monitor logistics performance indicators, prepare reports, and recommend process improvements.
- Ensure adherence to WFP safety, security, and quality standards throughout the supply chain.
- Provide technical guidance and capacity building to field staff and local partners on logistics best practices.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of humanitarian logistics, supply chain management, and emergency response protocols.
- Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management abilities.

Education
