Job Overview

The Construction Project Scheduler will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing project schedules for multiple construction sites throughout Eritrea. Working closely with project managers, engineers, and field teams, the Scheduler ensures that timelines are realistic, resources are allocated efficiently, and milestones are met on time. This position plays a pivotal role in supporting the successful delivery of infrastructure projects that drive economic development and improve connectivity across the country. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 or MS Project, incorporating all construction activities, milestones, and critical paths.
  • Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, and subcontractors to gather accurate activity durations and resource requirements.
  • Monitor schedule performance, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions to keep projects on track.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly schedule reports for senior management and client stakeholders.
  • Facilitate schedule review meetings, presenting updates and risk assessments to cross‑functional teams.
  • Maintain an up‑to‑date repository of schedule data, ensuring compliance with company standards and client contractual obligations.
  • Support cost control efforts by linking schedule data with budget forecasts and cash flow projections.
  • Assist in the development of risk mitigation strategies related to time constraints and resource availability.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in scheduling software such as Primavera P6, MS Project, or equivalent.
  • Strong analytical abilities with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey schedule information to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in multicultural teams and adapt to dynamic project environments.
  • Knowledge of construction methodologies, sequencing, and resource planning.
  • Problem‑solving mindset with the capacity to anticipate and address scheduling challenges.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field is required. Candidates with additional certifications in project scheduling (e.g., PMI-SP) are highly regarded.

Experience

Applicants should have 3 to 5 years of hands‑on experience in construction scheduling for large‑scale infrastructure projects. Experience working on international projects or in African markets is a distinct advantage.

Salary

The position offers a competitive salary ranging from 150,000 to 250,000 SSP per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance‑based bonuses and allowances may be provided in line with company policy.
