Job Overview:We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sustainable Urban Planning Specialist to join our team in Dekemhare, Eritrea. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing sustainable urban planning strategies and projects that promote environmentally friendly and socially responsible urban development. The position will involve working closely with local government officials, community leaders, and other stakeholders to ensure that our projects are tailored to the needs of the local community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement sustainable urban planning strategies and projects that promote environmentally friendly and socially responsible urban development
  • Work closely with local government officials, community leaders, and other stakeholders to ensure that our projects are tailored to the needs of the local community
  • Conduct research and analysis to identify opportunities for sustainable urban development and to develop innovative solutions to urban planning challenges
  • Develop and manage project budgets and timelines to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget
  • Collaborate with other IUCN teams and partners to leverage resources and expertise to support sustainable urban development

Required Skills:

  • Master’s degree in Urban Planning or related field
  • 5-7 years of experience in urban planning and sustainable development
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with other stakeholders
  • Fluency in English and Tigrinya languages

Education:Master’s degree in Urban Planning or related field
