Job Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and strategic Procurement Specialist to join our regional operations team in Barentu. This role is critical to ensuring that our humanitarian programs are supported by a seamless and efficient supply chain. The successful candidate will manage the end-to-end procurement process, from sourcing high-quality goods and services to managing vendor relationships and ensuring compliance with international standards. Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full procurement lifecycle for various humanitarian projects, ensuring timely delivery of essential supplies.
- Identify, vet, and onboard reliable local and international suppliers that align with our ethical standards.
- Negotiate contracts and pricing to ensure maximum value for money and cost-effectiveness.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date procurement records and documentation for auditing purposes.
- Collaborate with the finance department to ensure all procurement activities align with budgetary constraints.
- Monitor vendor performance and address any issues regarding quality or delivery timelines.
Required Skills
- Advanced negotiation and contract management skills.
- Deep understanding of international procurement standards and ethical sourcing practices.
- Proficiency in ERP software and advanced Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication skills in English and local languages.
Education
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field is required. Professional certification such as CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) is highly desirable.
Experience
Candidates must possess at least 5 years of professional experience in procurement or supply chain management, preferably within an international NGO or large-scale development organization. Proven experience in managing complex logistics in challenging environments is essential.
Salary
The monthly salary for this position ranges from 45,000 SSP to 65,000 SSP, depending on experience and qualifications. This is a competitive package within the humanitarian sector in the region.
