Job Overview

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain network security systems to protect against cyber threats.
  • Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments to identify risks.
  • Monitor network traffic and respond to security incidents in real-time.
  • Develop and enforce security policies aligned with industry best practices (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST).
  • Collaborate with IT teams to integrate security solutions into existing infrastructure.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff on cybersecurity protocols and awareness.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience with firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and encryption technologies.
  • Proficiency in network security tools (e.g., Wireshark, Snort, Splunk).
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, and network architecture.
  • Certifications such as CISSP, CEH, or CompTIA Security+ are highly advantageous.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.
  • Master’s Degree or advanced certifications preferred.

Experience

  • 3-5 years of experience in network security or a related role.
  • Experience in telecommunications or enterprise IT environments is a plus.

Salary

  • 150,000 – 200,000 Eritrean Nakfa (SSP) per annum, depending on experience.
