Job Overview

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct environmental impact assessments for infrastructure and development projects
- Design climate resilience programs for coastal and arid regions in collaboration with local stakeholders
- Develop policy recommendations for sustainable resource management aligned with UN SDGs
- Lead community engagement initiatives to promote eco-friendly practices
- Monitor and report on biodiversity conservation outcomes in Massawa’s marine ecosystems
Required Skills
- Expertise in environmental policy frameworks and Eritrean regulatory compliance
- Proficiency in GIS mapping and ecological data analysis
- Strong project management skills with a proven track record in sustainability consulting
- Bilingual fluency in English and Tigrinya
- Ability to conduct fieldwork in remote coastal and mountainous regions
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Geography, or related discipline. Advanced degrees (Master’s or PhD) in Climate Science or Environmental Engineering are highly advantageous.
Experience
Minimum 3 years of experience in environmental consulting, with a focus on coastal zone management or desertification mitigation. Prior experience working with international NGOs or UN agencies is preferred.
Salary
15,000 – 20,000 SSP per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
