Job Overview

The Network Operations Engineer will be responsible for the design, implementation, monitoring, and optimization of EriTel’s core network infrastructure. Key Responsibilities

  • Design, configure, and maintain core routing and switching equipment across the national backbone.
  • Monitor network performance using NMS tools, generate reports, and implement corrective actions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex network incidents, minimizing downtime and impact on customers.
  • Coordinate with vendor engineers for equipment upgrades, firmware updates, and warranty support.
  • Conduct capacity planning and forecasting to support network growth and new service deployments.
  • Implement security best practices, including firewall policies, intrusion detection, and vulnerability assessments.
  • Participate in the rollout of 5G, fiber‑to‑the‑home (FTTH), and other emerging technologies.
  • Document network configurations, standard operating procedures, and incident logs.
  • Collaborate with the Service Assurance and Customer Support teams to ensure seamless service delivery.

Required Skills

  • Strong knowledge of IP networking, MPLS, BGP, OSPF, and QoS.
  • Hands‑on experience with Cisco, Juniper, or Huawei routing and switching platforms.
  • Proficiency in network monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, PRTG, or Nagios.
  • Understanding of telecom protocols including SIP, LTE, and 5G NR.
  • Excellent problem‑solving abilities and analytical thinking.
  • Effective communication skills for cross‑team collaboration and vendor interaction.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or a related discipline is required. Professional certifications such as CCNP, JNCIP, or equivalent are highly desirable and will be considered an advantage during the selection process.

Experience

Applicants should possess 3‑5 years of hands‑on experience in network operations within a telecom or large‑scale ISP environment.
