Job Overview
This role is pivotal in designing and implementing construction materials solutions that reduce environmental impact while maintaining structural integrity. Key Responsibilities
- Research, develop, and test sustainable construction materials (e.g., recycled aggregates, low-carbon cement).
- Collaborate with architects and engineers to integrate eco-friendly materials into project designs.
- Conduct lifecycle assessments to evaluate environmental impacts of materials.
- Ensure compliance with Eritrean and international sustainability standards (e.g., ISO 20122).
- Provide technical training to local teams on sustainable material applications.
Required Skills
- Expertise in material science and sustainable construction practices.
- Proficiency in CAD software and material testing equipment.
- Strong analytical skills for data-driven decision-making.
- Excellent communication for cross-departmental collaboration.
- Fluency in Eritrean languages (Tigrinya/Arabic) and English.
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Materials Science, or related field.
- Master’s Degree in Sustainable Engineering preferred.
Experience
- 3-5 years in construction materials engineering, with a focus on sustainability.
- Experience in Eritrean or East African infrastructure projects is advantageous.
Salary
150,000 – 200,000 Eritrean Nakfa (SSP) annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
